Marta María Jónsdóttir (b. 1974) studied at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and received an MFA from Goldsmith Collage in London in year 2000. In her works Marta explores the boundaries between drawing and painting. Color plays an important role and the works are often obscure and full of transparent nuances. The works are controlled but at the same time (paradoxically) spontaneous, immediate and raw. Creating a space that is both technological and human.
